Hello, my name is Jody Isenhour, founder of Dancers Against Cancer. I owned a studio called  F.G.I. School of Dance in Midwest City, Oklahoma for 12 years.  I now own Art In Motion in Iowa.   I am a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with my bachelor's degree in Ballet Pedagogy.  I also study the Cecchetti method of ballet.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2005.  It was very unexpected as I am sure many diagnoses are.  I moved to Iowa in August and started chemotherapy in September.  I know in my heart there was a reason I had breast cancer.  Several of my students' relatives were also being diagnosed.  I decided that the dance communities needed to get involved and Dancers Against Cancer was born.

We are a non-profit organization that travels around the United States asking local studios to put on a cancer awareness performance.  We raise money through ticket sales and merchandise sales.  I am very excited about my new program and hope to see many of my fellow dancers and dance educators get involved.

Hi, my name is Jessica McCarroll.  I am a graduate of Oklahoma City University with my Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Management.  Throughout college, I spent a great amount of time learning about and working with non-profit organizations.  This helped me to realize that there is so much that can be done and so many different paths to choose.  I knew that it was just a matter of time before I would get my chance to make a difference.

When Jody was diagnosed with breast cancer and we began to discuss the possibility of being able to use dance as our way to make a difference, I knew that was a great opportunity.  Many members of my family and friends have had breast cancer as well as many other types of cancer.  This has helped me to understand the need for awareness, and to encourage others to feel the same way.

Dancers Against Cancer is a great opportunity to unite so many people, and I know that with some work and time we will make it across the entire United States and some day across the world.
